Meet Okello Victor, a talented young man from Katanga, a slum in Uganda. Victor’s passion is doing bike tricks on his small bicycle, the same bike he uses to deliver foodstuffs to customers as a delivery man.
Growing up in Katanga, Victor’s love for bicycles began when he was just a child, riding to school on his small bike. But it wasn’t just a mode of transportation for him – it was a ticket to a world of adventure and excitement. As he rides, Victor often watches YouTube videos of professional bike trick riders, mesmerized by their skills and agility.
Victor’s inspiration to start doing bike tricks came from watching those YouTube videos. He was especially drawn to the way they could manipulate their bikes, making them dance in mid-air. Victor is hooked. He spends every spare moment practicing, watching YouTube tutorials, and learning from his mistakes.
To minimize accidents while doing his tricks, Victor always wears a helmet and uses YouTube tutorials to perfect the trick he wants to do. His bike may be old and worn out, but Victor’s determination and passion are what drive him to keep pushing himself to new heights.
Victor’s dream is to reach the international level and raise his country’s flag in making bike tricks. He wants to inspire others to chase their dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem. Victor’s story is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance, a reminder that even in the toughest of circumstances, anything is possible if you believe in yourself.
At Roots Support Foundation, we are proud to support talented young individuals like Victor, who are passionate about making a difference in their communities.
